Calvin Walds is a writer, educator, and abolitionist/image-maker/nomad originally from Detroit, Michigan. His poems and texts have been published widely and are forthcoming in DIAGRAM and Black Warrior Review. As an educator, he has taught in Sunflower County, in the Mississippi Delta, Ramallah, in the Occupied Palestinean Territories, and most recently in New York City. He has been a finalist for awards and fellowships including the Black Warrior Review Poetry Contest. He is currently an MFA candidate at UCSD in Cross-Genre Writing. Flee is his first chapbook.
